My suggestion would be Cole’s Chop House in Napa. I was just there for my birthday and it was an amazing experience. Good ambience, great food, and very attentive servers. You have to try the Mexican grilled prawns for an appetizer. The seafood bisque comes in a puff pastry bread bowl. And for dessert, I’d die to have their sorbet again. My husband had the steak Oscar and wished he could have had one more. I highly highly recommend Cole’s.
I just graduated out of High school (yay me!) and I’m really interested in the Culinary Arts. I’ve been to various schools here in California but none has captivated me as much as the C.I.A. Of coarse, I’ve only been to the campus here in Napa Valley, and will hopefully be going to see the Hyde Park Campus, but i want to know which campus is best, being that i will be potentially staying there for four years. If there’s any kind of information such as: If you’ve been to one campus or the other, if you prefer one and the reason, etc.
Thank You so much
& hope to see all the helpful answers!

I’d say 4 days at the least. Before I moved here I’d stay a week and still didn’t get to see and do everything I wanted. If you do some research and planning on your must-sees, you could squeeze it into 4 days.
I suggest staying in Napa, lodging only gets more expensive upvalley. The Travelodge is downtown and a great starting point for any excursions. And it’s decent and cheap, just remember you won’t be spending a lot of time in your room. Plus, the Visitor’s Center is in the Town Center and they’re very helpful.
If you have any questions, please email me. I live here.
Margrit Biever Mondavi: The Wine Queen of Napa Valley
The name Mondavi is synonymous with greatness in the world of great wines. The Mondavi Winery, located in Napa Valley, California, is considered one of the finest wineries in the world and is visited by hundreds of thousands of people each year. This documentary presents the incredible story of the Mondavis. After WW II Margrit Biever married a U.S. Officer, Robert Mondavi, and after traveling the world, they chose to locate in the Napa Valley, where Robert made up his mind that “this Californian paradise lacked only one thing: an exceptional wine.” Here we get the rare opportunity to see their wonderful story: he takes care of the winery, while she organizes concerts, art exhibitions, promotes young artists, and designs labels for their famous “Opus One.” Together, they cook and entertain visitors who hail from every corner of the world. Produced by TSI, Inc. 2004 JSCA 30 min.

Robert and Margrit Biever Mondavi are internationally celebrated as emissaries of American wine, food and the arts. Robert Mondavi is a pioneer in the California wine industry, leading the way for new and improved winemaking techniques and giving birth to the concept that California wines belong in the company of the great wines of the world. Mr. Mondavi continues to be a leader in the education of the American public on the joys and healthful benefits of drinking fine wine. Margrit Mondavi is a pioneer in her own right for her development of original cultural, fine arts and culinary arts programs that are now benchmarks within the wine world and beyond.
So my sister and I were looking to go wine tasting this weekend and I haven’t been to Napa for so long…Do they even have wineries that offer free tasting anymore? (I know V Sattui used to) So if someone(s) could answer me back a list if they have time that would be great!
