Which Is Better? The Culinary Institute Of America In Napa Valley,ca -or- In Hyde Park, Ny?
I just graduated out of High school (yay me!) and I’m really interested in the Culinary Arts. I’ve been to various schools here in California but none has captivated me as much as the C.I.A. Of coarse, I’ve only been to the campus here in Napa Valley, and will hopefully be going to see the Hyde Park Campus, but i want to know which campus is best, being that i will be potentially staying there for four years. If there’s any kind of information such as: If you’ve been to one campus or the other, if you prefer one and the reason, etc.
Thank You so much
& hope to see all the helpful answers!

Congratulations on your recent high school graduation! Good for you! Both of the CIA’s campuses, Greystone in CA and the Hyde Park, NY campus are OUTSTANDING! If you are looking to earn your Bachelors degree, you may want to consider the Hyde Park, NY campus- there are 41 kitchens and bakeshops, 5 on campus student-run restaurants, dorms, a library, and and athletic facility, so it is more like a traditional college campus. The Greystone campus is housed in the heart of the Napa Valley and has state of the art teaching kitchens and bakeshops, the Wine Spectator Restaurant that students take classes in and dorms, it is smaller than the Hyde Park campus but still a wonderful place to study! The Bachelors degree is not offered at Greystone, however a student can start with their Associates degree there and then transfer to the Hyde Park, NY campus to complete the junior and senior years of the Bachelors degree. The Associates degree curriculum is the same at both campuses.
I am more than happy to answer any questions you have about the CIA and help you set up a visit to see our Hyde Park, NY campus!

Yay you indeed! Although I don’t know about either of the CIA’s, can report that you’re definitely in a great career track if you attend either. I’ve heard their graduates get placed first above other school graduates, and that you develop professional skills that will fit you for every aspect of the “foodie” world. Good luck to you, and may your tocque gleam brightly upon your upward path.
